Ripper A New Musical

I just finished working on a production of the new musical Ripper.  Ripper is a musical set against the backdrop of the infamous Jack the Ripper murders in London’s East End in 1888.  The brilliant Duane Nelson created the show’s book, music, and lyrics.  It was an honor to work with Duane on this project and a joy to see him so happy and proud of the final product.  This was a monster of a show, with so many technical elements and lighting and set changes that everyone (cast and crew) had to be completely focused and on their game… AND THEY WERE!  This show would not have gone as smoothly as it did without our amazing crew.  I am deeply grateful to have worked with Duane and our director Ray Frewen on this project and to understand both of their visions and to see how a show like this develops and grows even more over its 6-year development process.  I look forward to seeing what comes next for this mysterious and dark show that engages its audience and takes them on a journey that’s scary, dark, and uncertain but has glimpses of hopeful and refuge.  Until then… “Rip Goes the Knife!”
